Slippery Words

Two-Faced

Another day, another page of sketches. This time the star is the best worm, Tik-Tak. Those familiar with the original strip will remember them as looking a bit different from this, especially the large central mass the two heads came out of. That always struck me as awkward, and it limited their movements greatly. While Xeno and Puddy look fine the way they are, Tik-Tak was always meant to be different from the other slimes, both in attitude and physically. So dropping that and making them look more like a green gummy worm, they've gained a lot more mobility and expressiveness.

I don't think I'll really give them a defined length, but think of them as about the size of your average garter snake, just with heads that talk at either end.

On a side note, I'm really looking forward to getting the strip started again, if I can. If you know anyone who'd like the strip, be sure to let them know it's coming.

See you squishies next time! Hopefully not more than a couple of days.

Updates Tuesday-Friday

Xeno's Paradise is fully hand-drawn, using a 2B pencil for sketching, various Microns, Sharpies and brush pen on 11x14" poster paper. I am a great believer in traditional art, so most of what you see here will not be produced on the computer.

Xeno's Paradise is my first comic, but definitely not my last.
